FAR HILLS RACE MEETING ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES $100,000 COMMITMENT TO ATLANTIC HEALTH GORYEB CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

Proceeds From the Association’s Annual Flurry at Moorland Farm Shooting Competition Will Directly Support the Hospital’s Pediatric Patient Support Fund Which is Now Named in its Honor

The Flurry at Moorland Farm (Flurry) – the Far Hills Race Meeting Association’s (FHRMA) annual sporting clays invitational shooting competition benefitting local healthcare charities and first responders – today announced a $100,000 commitment to Atlantic Health Goryeb Children’s Hospital. Strengthening the event’s purpose of giving back to the community, the $100,000 donation from the Flurry will be used specifically to grow the hospital’s Pediatric Patient Support Fund, which helps cover critical, non-medical expenses that families and caregivers of children receiving care at the hospital are facing. In recognition of the association’s generosity, the Foundation for Morristown Medical Center has named the fund the Far Hills Race Meeting Association Pediatric Patient Support Fund.

Since its inception, the Far Hills Race Meeting Association has raised more than $22 million in support of healthcare across the region. First held in 2020, the Flurry at Moorland Farm has grown from a small gathering of family and friends to a large-scale sporting clays competition involving 250 shooters. To-date, the Flurry has raised more than $250,000, with benefactors including Atlantic Health Goryeb Children’s Hospital’s Far Hills Race Meeting Association Pediatric Patient Support Fund, RWJ University Hospital Somerset’s Far Hills Race Meeting Association Oncology Patient Assistance Fund, the Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department and Far Hills-Bedminster First Aid Squad.  The 7th Annual Flurry took place on May 7th with title sponsors for the event including Open Road Auto Group, VOLLERS, Inc., Whiting-Turner, TJS Automotive, and Unity Bank Dallas Group

“Giving back is our legacy, and after more than a century, it still drives everything we do,” said Ron Kennedy, Chairman of the Far Hills Race Meeting Association. “In just seven years, the Flurry has grown beyond anything we could have ever imagined, and that’s due to our shooters, our sponsors, and the spirit of fellowship and competition that brings people together. This $100,000 commitment will ensure families receiving care at Atlantic Health Goryeb Children’s Hospital can  focus on their child’s recovery, not the financial strain that can come with it. We’re proud to deepen our partnership with Atlantic Health and grow this fund even further, so that every dollar goes to where it’s needed most.”

The Far Hills Race Meeting Association Pediatric Patient Support Fund provides vital, compassionate assistance to parents and caregivers of children receiving care at Atlantic Health Goryeb Children’s Hospital who are facing significant financial hardship. When a child is seriously ill or hospitalized, families often experience sudden loss of income and unexpected expenses that can quickly overwhelm household finances. This fund helps close that gap, ensuring families are not forced to choose between meeting basic needs and caring for their child.

“At Atlantic Health Goryeb Children’s Hospital, we are committed to caring for the whole child, as well as the whole family,” said Beth C. Natt, MD, MPH, MBA, chair of Pediatrics for Atlantic Health Goryeb Children’s Hospital and medical director for the Pediatric Service Line for Atlantic Health. “The ongoing generosity of the Far Hills Race Meeting Association helps ensure that families can focus on their child’s healing, rather than the financial challenges that often accompany serious illness – making a meaningful difference in the lives of so many.”

Through timely and targeted support, the fund assists with often overlooked, but critical, non-medical expenses that families face. By supporting families in need with costs such as transportation to medical appointments, medications not fully covered by insurance, food, rent and other urgent household stressors, the Far Hills Race Meeting Association Pediatric Patient Support Fund allows caregivers to focus their energy where it matters most – on their child’s healing and well-being.

This $100,000 commitment marks another meaningful step in the Far Hills Race Meeting Association’s ongoing mission to support the health and well-being of the communities it serves. We’re excited to continue its impact at the 105th running of the Far Hills Race Meeting on October 17, 2026.
