By entering your application between 5/1/26 and 6/1/26, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
When entering the contest, you acknowledge that your name, address, zip code, and e-mail address (the "Personal Data") will have been made available to the Far Hills Race Meeting Association and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset. All Personal Data will be held and used by the Far Hills Race Meeting Association and the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in accordance with their privacy policies.
This application is the only acceptable method to submit your request to perform the National Anthem before the Far Hills Race on October 17, 2026.
Applicants must be 16 or older and must be legal residents of NJ, NY, or PA.
Contest may be entered by a solo performer only.
Ten applicants will be selected for an in-person audition based on their completed application.
All costs related to participation in the contest, including but not limited to transportation, accommodation, meals, attire, and preparation expenses, shall be the sole responsibility of the participant. There is no financial compensation of any kind for participation, including if selected to perform at the Far Hills Race Meeting.
Registration deadline is June 1, 2026. Selected applicants will be notified by June 15, 2026 via email from the Far Hills Race Meeting Association.
Applicants must be able to attend the contest in person on June 25, 2026 at the Steeplechase Cancer Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, NJ.
First place winner and runner up will be selected on June 25, 2026.
The winner will sing the National Anthem at the Far Hills Race Meeting on October 17, 2026 in Far Hills, NJ. If the First Place winner is unavailable, the Runner Up will sing the National Anthem at the Far Hills Race Meeting on October 17, 2026
By participating, you grant permission to the Far Hills Race Meeting Association and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset for recording and use of media of your performance and likeness, including for subsequent reproduction and/or showings on television or other media outlets.
Your participation in this contest authorizes the Far Hills Race Meeting Association and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset to publish your name if you are the winner and to record, photograph, and publish all performances for promotional purposes.
The organizers reserve the right to amend guidelines if necessary.
The contest may be canceled or rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances.
All decisions made by the organizing committee are final.
Performance Guidelines
The national anthem must be performed in its official version.
The lyrics must not be altered or modified.
The melody must remain true to the original composition.
Code of Conduct
Participants must maintain respectful behavior at all times.
Appropriate attire is required (formal or semi-formal recommended).
Participants must follow all instructions from organizers and officials.
