A Look Back at the 104th Running of the Far Hills Race Meeting

Thank You for Celebrating the 104th Running of the Far Hills Race Meeting!

For more than a century, Moorland Farm has been the heart of cherished memories and time-honored traditions. Each year, on the third Saturday in October—tens of thousands gather in Far Hills, New Jersey, not only to witness world-class steeplechase racing, but to celebrate family traditions that span generations. This year was truly unforgettable, with historic victories, meaningful milestones with our beneficiaries, and experiences that made the day one to remember.

With the finest horses competing for $775,000, the highest purses on the National Steeplechase Association’s calendar, the 104th running delivered an afternoon of legendary racing. History was made, as trainer Gordon Elliott swept all five hurdle races on the card—a record-breaking achievement—capping the day with a thrilling victory aboard Zanahiyr (IRE) in the prestigious $250,000 American Grand National.

Each year, we look for new ways to enhance the race day experience, and this season brought exciting updates. The Hunt Club was reimagined as a fully all-inclusive experience with unlimited food and drinks, music, games, unbeatable rail-side views and welcomed the maximum number of guests. We welcomed Brown Advisory as the presenter of The Chairman’s Tent—an elevated, all-inclusive experience just steps from the finish line and trophy ceremonies. Attendees also enjoyed an expanded Vendor Village, featuring new local artisans and fan-favorite food trucks that added to the day’s lively energy.

At the heart of the Far Hills Race Meeting is a deep commitment to giving back. Over the years, we’ve proudly raised more than $22 million to support healthcare initiatives across New Jersey—and every ticket purchased helps make this possible. This year, we are proud to share that RWJ Somerset has renamed its Oncology Patient Cancer Assistance Fund to the Far Hills Race Meeting Oncology Patient Assistance Fund, where 100% of donations go directly to patients and families to help cover expenses not covered by insurance. In addition, we have pledged $1.25 million to RWJ Barnabas Health Somerset over the next several years to support this vital program. These efforts—along with continued contributions to Crossroads4Hope, Community in Crisis, LifeCamp, and Bonnie Brae—reflect the meaningful impact your generosity and attendance make possible.

To our incredible volunteers, first responders, and our presenting sponsor— Open Road Auto Group – your dedication makes the day possible and truly unforgettable. And to our racegoers, thank you for being part of this cherished tradition. Your enthusiasm, energy, and support are what make the Far Hills Race Meeting so special.

We are grateful for your continued support and for celebrating with us.
